About Me
I'm a passionate Project Manager and Research & Innovation Scientist dedicated to accelerating the energy and material transition through groundbreaking sustainable solutions. With a strong foundation in catalysis and a deep commitment to reducing our global carbon footprint, I thrive at the intersection of scientific discovery and impactful project execution.
Currently, as a Project Manager at TNO, the Dutch organization for applied scientific research, I lead multi-stakeholder projects focused on sustainable process and energy systems. My role involves steering complex initiatives from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, and fostering collaborative environments that drive real-world change. I leverage my expertise in project leadership, cross-functional team management, and strategic planning to navigate the complexities of innovative research and development in areas like biobased polymers and advanced plastics recycling.
My journey began with a PhD in Chemistry, specializing in catalysis, which provided me with a robust understanding of chemical transformations at a fundamental level. This academic rigor seamlessly transitioned into applied research during my impactful tenure as a Research Scientist at the CAT Center (a joint R&I Center of RWTH Aachen University and Covestro AG). There, I spearheaded projects in catalysis for polymerization and depolymerization, contributing significantly to the chemical recycling of polyurethane waste (e.g., the CircularFoam project) and the innovative conversion of waste CO/CO2 gases into valuable polyol building blocks (as seen in the Carbon4PUR project). My experience spans the entire R&D lifecycle, from catalyst development and optimization to process R&D, data analysis, and meticulous scientific writing.
Beyond the lab, I'm a strong advocate for translating cutting-edge research into tangible, sustainable technologies. My work is consistently driven by a desire to create a more circular economy and reduce our reliance on virgin resources. I've been fortunate to contribute to highly collaborative international projects and engage with diverse teams, honing my skills in communication, problem-solving, and mentoring the next generation of scientists.
I am always keen to connect with like-minded professionals, explore new challenges, and forge collaborations that can collectively push the boundaries of sustainable innovation. If you're passionate about renewable energy, circular economy principles, and pioneering solutions for a healthier planet, I invite you to connect with me. Let's explore how we can work together to build a more sustainable future.
